Canadian Foodgrains Bank
Our “Buy a Row” Campaign is growing well. We have $1000 in donations which is half way to our target. Thank you to all those who have donated to this worthwhile cause where our donations are quadrupled by The Canadian International Development Fund. This means support for many grass roots projects in the developing world. Please put The Foodgrains Bank on your Christmas list or consider giving a donation to family or friends in lieu of a gift. There are blank notecards in the Narthex or see me for a package of six. Cheques can be made out to St. John’s United Church and put in the offering plate or drop at the church office
Kerrr Street Ministries
The Christmas Wonders program is back again this year at KSM. A package of six cards is $20 which all goes to provide food vouchers and gift certificates for needy families to help make Christmas a special time. These make a thoughtful hostess gift instead of the usual serviettes or cheese knives! They also make great small gifts for a special someone. Purchase these after church on Sunday.
St. Lucia Concert
Many of you have attended the sold out concerts in support of the St. Lucia Project in the past. This fundraiser supports a summer day camp with T-shirts and food bags for the children’s families, school supplies, and Blessing Bags for the elderly in the poor villages on St. Lucia. This year’s concert is on Monday, February 6th. Watch for ticket sales in the New Year!
